Kids Rock Stars

Phoenix Children's Hospital, in partnership with Kohl's came to McMurry looking for ideas and concepts for their Kids Rock Stars program. I came up with several ideas from superhero's to space to rock star concepts. Internally, we all agreed on the rock star (since the program is called Kids Rock Stars) and presented to the client. I drafted a functional spec and conceptual storyboards, as well as some options on illustrators for the artwork. The client approved my concept of building your band through physical activity to progress towards a parent/teacher program goal. The illustrator provided drawings and two homepage concepts were presented. The client loved the more fun and exciting design, but settled on the design that is more like their site. We built the site on the MVC PHP framework CodeIgniter and tied the front-end content pages to PCH's CMS system (Convio). The project was a huge success and looks awesome!
